How it works

Four steps to instant remittance

From creating a remittance to the recipient claiming funds—simple, transparent, and on-chain.

Step 01

Create a Remittance

Set a target amount, recipient wallet or phone number, and optional expiry. The smart contract creates a secure escrow on Base.

Step 02

Fund Individually or as a Group

Contribute USDT directly or via Uniswap v4 swaps—the hook captures a portion of each swap output automatically. Multiple people can pool funds toward a single remittance.

Step 03

Auto-Release on Target

When the target amount is reached, funds are automatically released to the recipient—minus a tiny 0.5% fee. No middleman needed.

Step 04

Recipient Claims Funds

The recipient can also manually release once the target is met, or claim refunds if the remittance expires. Full control, full transparency.

Features

Everything you need for global remittances

Built for the real needs of cross-border payments: group funding, compliance, phone-based sends, and more.

Group Contributions

Multiple family members or friends pool funds into a single remittance. Perfect for collective support like tuition, medical bills, or community projects.

Phone-Based Sends

Send to a phone number instead of a wallet address. Privacy-preserving on-chain resolver maps hashed phone numbers to wallets.

On-Chain Compliance

Pluggable compliance modules. Phase 1 uses KYC-based allowlists with daily limits. Phase 2 adds Worldcoin World ID biometric verification.

Auto-Release Escrow

Smart contract escrow with configurable auto-release. Funds are released automatically when target is met, or manually by the recipient.

Expiry & Refunds

Set optional deadlines. If the target isn't met by expiry, contributors can claim full refunds. Creators can cancel anytime.

Built on Base L2

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Currently AstraSend supports USDT (Tether) as the primary corridor token. This provides stability during transit, eliminating FX risk between send and receive.

When you create a remittance, anyone can contribute to it. Share the remittance link with family or friends, and they can contribute USDT directly. All contributions are tracked on-chain with full transparency.

If a remittance has an expiry date and the target isn't met in time, contributors can claim full refunds. The creator can also cancel at any time to trigger refunds.

AstraSend uses pluggable compliance modules. Phase 1 uses a KYC-based allowlist with configurable daily limits (default 10,000 USDT). Phase 2 adds Worldcoin World ID for biometric proof-of-personhood via zero-knowledge proofs.

The platform fee is 0.5% of the remittance amount, deducted at release. There are no hidden fees, no FX markups, and no wire transfer charges. Gas fees on Base L2 are typically under $0.01.

The smart contracts include comprehensive test coverage with 229 passing tests (unit, integration, invariant, and fuzz tests). A formal audit is planned before mainnet deployment.
